Until I was about 10 years old, the end tables at my house were part of a set that my Grandparents had received as a wedding present in the 1950’s. They were made of solid Maple. An elongated, lower panel, and a smaller, raised panel were sandwiched between side panels with a clover design cut out of them. The legs were thin tapered cylinders that were angled outward from each corner. I knew them well, because when I was very young there were always books for me to read on the lower shelf. As I got closer to 10 years old, before they disappeared, I used them as “secret hideouts” for my superhero action figures.

Flash forward 70 years after they were made and almost 30 years of the design ruminating in my mind. Out of the effervescent dream cloud comes The Reverb Collection, a living room set that is a repeating echo of design. Influenced by early Danish modern makers and their American contemporaries, this retro-futuristic furniture is yet another tribute to my childhood and heritage.
